Horizon Coatings Inc. uses state-of-the-art machines to factory apply several coats of finish to every piece of pine.  The wood is sealed on all sides to prevent cupping and warping and also prevents sap from bleeding through.  In addition to the coating, Horizon Coatings sands each piece twice to give it a smooth, glass like finish.  Our 10 year limited warranty on the finish gives you the peace of mind that you’re receiving the highest quality coating available.

Available in Clear Natural or Colours

Ready Pine™ is available in a clear finish or you can choose from 6 standard stain colours.  The clear finish does not alter the natural colour of pine, but allows it to mellow over time, giving it a rich, warm character that only pine can offer.  Ready Pine™ is also available in 6 stain colours that each bring out and enhance the look of pine. The colours are translucent, which allows the wood grain to show through. They are topcoated with the same clear finish as the clear natural, giving it a smooth professional look.

Eastern White Pine

Ready Pine™ is made only of carefully chosen Eastern White Pine.  This species finishes well because it handsomely displays the sound, tight knots and natural colour highlights of White Pine.

Profile Choice

With Ready Pine™, you can choose between two patterns.  One pattern has a bevel cut on the edges only, giving it the look of a 5” plank.  The other pattern has a bevel cut on the edges, as well as a centre V-groove down the middle, giving this face the look of 2.5” wide planks.

If you choose to have Ready Pine™ finished with a clear natural finish, you don’t have to choose which pattern you will use until you install.  This is because we have two coats on both sides of the board, making it reversible.  Why not try the wide plank look on the wall and the narrow plank look on the ceiling – it’s up to you.

If you choose a stain colour, you will have to decide which pattern you would like at the time of ordering.  However, we still seal the back of the board with a clear coat to help prevent cupping and warping.

How does Ready Pine™ come?

Random Lengths

Ready Pine™ is available in random lengths from 6’ to 16’ long.  This means in any lift you’ll receive a random number of pieces that are 6’, 8’, 10’, 12’, 14’ or 16’ long.  The lift is packaged with the exact number of feet you require to complete your job and is about 4’ wide by 16’ long.  Random lengths are ideal for ceilings or horizontal wall installations.  Random lengths are a custom order, so you need to speak to the Order Desk at your local building supply centre.  » Click here to find a Dealer

8’ Program

Ready Pine™ also comes in easy to handle 8' packs.  There are 4 pieces 8’ long in each pack.  These packs are finished in only Clear Natural and are topcoated on both sides, allowing you to use either pattern.  The advantage of 8’ pieces is they’re stocked in the store, so you can leave with the product and complete your project that day.  8’ lengths are also ideal for vertical wall installations since most walls are 8’ high.  There will be no seams and no waste.  This product is also ideal for wainscoting.

Economy Project

Horizon Coatings also offers an economy version of Ready Pine™ called Ready Pine Works™.  Ready Pine Works™ is a single coat version of Ready Pine™ and offers the same protection and very similar look.   It is coated on all sides, allowing you to install either pattern.  The only real noticeable difference is in texture, since we haven’t sanded between coats, the board may feel rougher. However, this effect is not noticeable on ceilings.  Ready Pine Works™ sells for significantly less than Ready Pine™, so if your project is price sensitive, speak to your local building supply centre about this great alternative.  » Click here to find a Dealer.
